The Venerable Wiremu Kaua JP, ONZM was officially presented with Life Membership of the Aotearoa Maori Tennis Association at a small ceremony in Wellington on Thursday 7 June. The honour was bestowed by AMTA Kaumatua Sir Tamati Reedy and AMTA President Dick Garratt, with Lady Tilly Reedy, Desrae Garratt and Doris Kaua in attendance.
This honour matches his New Years honour for contribution to Maori and Education.
The AMTA honour for Wiremu also extends back to his father Pita Kaua, his contribution on and off the tennis court, where Wiremu also upheld that same support for Maori Tennis.
