Congratulations Paige Hourigan (Whanganui) who not only was awarded Tennis Central Player of the Year this month but has also been named in the New Zealand Fed Cup Team travelling to Tajikistan to play in Group 2 Asia/Oceania Zone mid-July. Paige will play alongside team mates Marina Erakovic (subject to availability), Erin Routliffe (subject to ITF approval re eligibility) and Jo Carswell. Following the TNZ Performance update another Central player, Ryan Carter (Kapi Mana) was asked to the Tennis NZ Junior Performance Camp early May.
2017 NCAA Division 1 Women’s tennis championships
Paige represented Georgia Tech Women’s tennis team at the 2017 NCAA Division 1 Women’s tennis championships in May at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, sadly Paige and her partner lost in a super tie-break to the eventual runner ups in the round of 16.
