Former AMTA Committee member and strong supporter of Māori Tennis. Mrs Wehengarua ‘Bunny’ Tipene (nee Rameka) wife of the late Sam Tipene, and devoted mother to Jeffrey, Sara, Tania, Earl and Troy. Passed away at her residence in Mangawhai on the 30 January 2026.
Her son Troy was a former Māori age champion and holder twice of the NZ Junior title.
Bunny was taken to Tauwhara marae, Waitata North and laid to rest at Patito Urupa.
