Brooke Kenny (Ngāti Toa, Ngāi Tahu) & Te Kani Williams (Ngāi Tūhoe) Open Champions

Brooke & Te Kani both won their singles & doubles titles and then combined to win the ‘Te Arawa Challenge’ mixed doubles trophy.

Over 150 players from around NZ, Australia and the pacific took part with many past sporting heroes across all codes taking part, highlighted by Kiwi Rugby League Legend Olsen Filipaina (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Hāmoa) in the 60-69 singles and with brother Alf in the Social Grade.

He Pou whakarae koroua – Dinny Mohi (Te Arawa winning the 76+ Mens singles and World Bronze medallist 81 year old Mary Durham (Ngāpuhi) taking out the 70+ Women’s singles, our youngest player was Aizaya Wanakore-Chase (Ngāti Maniapoto) at 6 years old and our eldest Peter Thomas (Ngāpuhi) at 83 years young.
